The Ooni of Ife and Paramount Ruler of Yoruba Land, Ooni Adeyeye Ogunwusi, Ojaja II has joined other dignitaries across the country to celebrate the Ayangburen of Ikorodu, Oba Engr Dr Kabiru Adewale Shotobi, GCIO on his 10th Coronation Anniversary.
The Arole Oodua in his special tribute to the Ayangburen noted that the 10th Coronation Anniversary of Oba Shotobi was a testament to the enduring legacy and visionary reign of a monarch who has redefined the standards of traditional rulership in contemporary times.
In his words, ‘A decade ago, Ikorodu opened a new chapter when Oba Shotobi ascended the throne of his
forefathers. From that day forward, his reign has been characterized by an unwavering commitment to the welfare of his people, the preservation of cultural heritage, and the embrace of modern development’.
Speaking on Oba Shotobi’s 10th Coronation Anniversary Commemorative Book, the Ooni wrote; The book, “ILUFEMILOBA: The Royal Strides of a Classy Monarch” stands not only as a record of years gone by but as a testament to the enduring legacy and visionary reign of a monarch who has redefined the standards of traditional rulership in our time.
‘This commemorative volume captures the milestones of a reign that has brought peace, unity and prosperity’, Oba Adeyeye added.
Speaking further, the revered monarch said, ‘His thoughtful diplomacy more than a chronicle, this book serves as a celebration of values – of dignity, resilience, heritage, and service. The photographs, tributes, and narratives enclosed in these pages speak
volumes of a reign rooted in humility, guided by divine purpose, and enriched by the love of the people. They remind us that leadership, when anchored in truth and driven by purpose, can
indeed transform lives’.
The Ooni further noted that, under His Majesty’s guidance, Ikorodu kingdom has witnessed remarkable strides in
education, infrastructure, cultural revival, and youth empowerment.
Ooni also use the open to offer prayers for the upcoming generations of Ikorodu and Yoruba Land in general.
‘As we reflect on these ten fruitful years, may this book inspire us and future generations to appreciate the depth of our traditions and the greatness that lies in selfless leadership’.
