The Chairman, Senate Committee on Banking, Insurance and Other Financial Institutions, Senator Tokunbo Abiru has commended the outgoing Executive Chairman of Ikorodu Local Government, Hon. Wasiu Adeshina for his unusual passion for service.
Abiru who was the Special Guest of Honour at the commissioning of the new Ikorodu Local Government Legislative Building stated this during his remarks at the event on Thursday.
He specifically praised Adeshina for not relenting in his quest to deliver democracy dividends to the people even till his last days in office.
Senator Mukhail Abiru expressed delight at Hon. Adeshina’s impact, saying, ‘You have done very well on the accounts I have heard. One thing we have to respect is the fact that you are doing all of these at the time you are leaving office, this is selflessness at its peak, it is highly commendable’.
Similarly, a former Majority Leader of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. S.O.B Agunbiade also echoed Abiru’s remarks describing the Council Chairman as a ‘Converter’, with the transformation of the ‘old and dilapidated’ Council Secretariat building into an edifice.
‘Hon. Wasiu Adesina is a Converter’. Hon. Agunbiade said, “He converted this old dilapidated structure to an edifice. I’m pleased to be here, I’m pleased to witness this event, I’m pleased with what I have seen, and I will leave here telling the world this is the best way to bow out of office’.
In the same vein, APC Chieftains and party faithfuls who graced Thursday’s multiple project commissioning events have commended Adeshina for his Triumphant Exit from office.
Some of the projects commissioned included the Prince Abiodun Ogunleye Legislative Complex, Roads and Drainages at Muhammad Ajayi Close, Ita-Elewa, Itunmaja, Obun-Ale, Sanni Arowolo, Otayombo, and Dada Streets.
The Council legislative complex was also commissioned by Distinguished Senator Mukhail Abiru has been described by many as commemdable.
Former Deputy Governor of Lagos State, Prince Abiodun Ogunleye also praised Hon. Adesina, stating, “Indeed you started great, you are ending great’.
A notable APC Leader, Pa Oye Solebo noted that Hon. Adesina is leaving behind a great legacy, saying, ‘This should motivate the next administration to be better’.
Other guests praised Adehsina’s impact over the past eight years and for initiating the transformation of the secretariat among other Infrastructural projects.
