The Iyaloja-General of Ikorodu Division, Dcns. Chief Busola Isikalu on Wednesday, 3rd September marked her 1st year anniversary since her official capping by the Iyaloja-General of Nigeria, Chief (Mrs) Folashade Tinubu-Ojo on 23rd August, 2024.
She was subsequently installed by the Ayangburen of Ikorodu, Oba Engr. Kabiru Adewale Shotobi during the 2024 Ikorodu-Oga Day Celebration..
The Ikorodu Division market leader marked the anniversary with a special Thanksgiving Service and Get-together for leaders and members of the Ikorodu Division Commodities Women and Men Association (ACWA) at the association’s temporary secretariat at Ita-Elewa Shopping Complex in Ikorodu.
The anniversary started with a Christian Thanksgiving Service and Praise and was followed with prayer sessions led by clergymen.
Addressing the attendees and market leaders from different parts of Ikorodu Division who graced the event, Dcns Isikalu appreciated God for the opportunity given to her to serve her community.
She also acknowledged the royal and fatherly support of the Ayangburen of Ikorodu, Oba Kabiru Adewale Shotobi for supporting her emergence against all the oppositions.
Dcns Isikalu also.paid glowing tribute to the Iyaloja-General of Nigeria, Chief Mrs Folashade Tinubu-Ojo for her endorsement, motherly support and guidance since her capping and subsequent installation one year ago.
She equally acknowledged the support of the immediate past Chairman of Ikorodu Local Government, Hon. Wasiu Adeshina for yielding to the decision of Oba Shotobi and the market man and women association by giving her official recognition.
She also acknowledged Senator Tokunbo Abiru, Rep Babajimi Benson and Hon. Ogunleye Gbolahan Adetokunbo and other eminent Ikorodu Division leaders for standing by her since her installation one year ago.
Iyaloja-General Isikalu also used the opportunity to reel out her score card of performance in the last 12 months in the saddle to the markt men and women, many of who commended her giant strides.
A major highlight of the anniversary celebration was the testimonials given by various leaders of market men and women association across the Division, who testified that the emergence of Iyaloja Isikalu has brought prosperity and positive developments to the association.
The event climaxed with winning, dining, and photo sessions with Iyaloja-General, flanked by leaders and representatives of markets across Ikorodu Division.
