Honour came the way of the Iyaloja-General of Ikorodu Division, Dcns Busola Elizabeth Isikalu on Monday, as she was conferred with the Ikorodu Community Empowerment Award.
The honour came courtesy of the Ikorodu Division APC Woman Leader, Alh. Rasheedat Bello, as part of activities marking her 43rd Birthday and Women Empowerment Programme.
The award, according to Alh. Bello was meant to recognize Iyaloja Isikalu ‘s dynamic leadership style and commitment to the uplifting of the women folks in Ikorodu Division.
The award was presented to the Iyaloja-General on behalf of the Woman Leader by the Ikorodu APC Chairman, Alh. Waheed Animashaun, supported by the Executive Chairman, Hon. Adeshina and Alh. Rasheedat Bello.
In her brief remarks after receiving the award, Isikalu expressed appreciation to the Woman Leader for recognizing her humble contribution to the uplifting of market men and women, pledging not to rest on her oars.
She equally thanked the Executive Chairman of Ikorodu Local Government, Hon. Wasiu Adeshina for his commitment to the welfare of the Ikorodu market men and women.
She specifically appreciated Adeshina for being a listening Chairman. She recalled how she made the request for a bus for the association during the 2025 budget presentation, expressing gratitude to the Council boss for his promise to present the official vehicle to the Ikorodu Division Market men and women soon.
