
It was commendations galore today, Sunday, 1st June, 2025 at the Ikorodu Town Hall as tens of critical stakeholders of Ikorodu Oga Development Association (IKODASS) commends the unique strides recorded by the Alhaji Fatai Kolawole-led Executive within just 14 days in office.
The commendations were given amidst rousing applause when the new IKODASS Chairman presented some major milestones his executive has recorded in the last two weeks he assumed office.
In his presentation at the meeting, Kolawole reported the following as some of the milestones so far recorded.

2-WEEK SCORE-CARDS
- Complete Facelift and Rebranding of IKODASS Office
- Resuscitation of suspended IKODASS Website through payment of outstanding domain renewal and other professional charges inherited from the immediate past administration
- Creation of New Vision & Mission Statement; To position Ikorodu as the socio-cultural, tourism and economic nerve centre of the emerging Lagos Smart City, through socio-cultural advocacy, innovative events and projects
- Framing of Ikorodu Oga Anthem to beautify the IKODASS conference room
- Launch of IKODASS Members’ Car Stickers for identification, awareness and fund-raising
- Production of Exco I.D Cards among others.
Earlier, the Alh. Kolawole equally presented some of his administration’s programs, under the ARISE Agenda to the gathering for their input and concurrence. They included the planned opening of IKODASS foreign Chapters in France, Belgium, Canada and a host of other countries.

He equally informed the stakeholders about the upcoming hosting of the Elders’ Day, aimed at celebrating senior citizens of 80 years and above at the Ayangburen Palace in July.

The Chairman also proposed the review, merger or complete overhauling of some of the organization’s existing line-up of programmes of events for effectiveness and better participation.
Responding, cross-section of the Stakeholders and elders expressed delight at the Chairman’s presentation.

Other important matters discussed at the meeting included the payment of annual dues and issuance of Certificates of registration to Clubs and Associations and the participation of IKODASS in the 10th Coronation Anniversary of Ayangburen of Ikorodu, Oba Kabiru Adewale Shotobi.

Another important subject discussed was the preparation towards the 2025 Ikorodu Oga Day Carnival, in alignment with the Chairman’s ARISE Agenda among others.
The meeting was graced by prominent IKODASS Stakeholders and representatives of clubs and associations. They included past IKODASS Executive members, like Alh. Wahab, former IKODASS Treasurer, Mr. Salami Awolaru, Com. Kehinde Okeowo.
Newly elected members of the IKODASS Executive also turned out in large numbers.
