
In a strategic move to strengthen his administration’s GLORY vision, the Executive Chairman of Igbogbo-Baiyeku LCDA, Omo’ba Hammed Olalekan Aroyewun, yesterday Monday, March 9, 2026. inaugurated his cabinet.
The ceremony, held at the Council Secretariat, marked the formal entry of the Secretary to the Local Government (SLG), Supervisors, and Special Advisers into the executive team before a gathering of traditional rulers, party leaders, and community stakeholders.
In his keynote address, the council boss reminded the newly appointed officials that their roles are defined by impact rather than status.

He also clarified that the oath of office administered on them was a solemn commitment to serve with integrity and diligence, emphasizing that public office is about the lives touched and the legacy left behind for future generations.
‘Public office is not about prestige; it is about purpose’, the Chairman remarked.
He noted that his administration remained guided by a clear roadmap known as the GLORY Agenda, which serves as the development framework for building a stronger and more prosperous Igbogbo-Baiyeku LCDA.

Aroyewun used the opportunity to break down the five pillars of his administration’s strategy:
- G – Good Governance & Green Interventions: Focusing on transparency and food security.
- L – Learning: Expanding educational support and scholarships.
- O – Optimal Wellness: Strengthening healthcare and public sanitation.
- R – Roads & Physical Infrastructure: Investing in mobility and drainage systems.
- Y – Youth & Sports Development: Harnessing local talent through skills acquisition.
He further noted that while his administration has already made strides in road rehabilitation and school renovations, the journey is far from over. He therefore urged the team to bring forward innovative ideas to strengthen the existing policies.
Addressing the specific roles of the appointees, the Chairman announced Alh. Qudus Ọdúntán, the new council SLG, as the administrative anchor of the council. He tasked the SLG with ensuring that all executive processes remain transparent and aligned with the vision of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

He equally noted that the Vice Chairman, Barr. Ade Ayeni shall act as the Supervisor for Investment and Wealth Creation, positioning the office at the heart of the LCDA’s economic drive.
He further directed the Supervisors and Special Advisers in charge of Civic Engagement, Culture and Tourism, Transport and Market Affairs, Social Services, and Project Monitoring to report directly to the Vice Chairman as they carry out their duties.
Aroyewun also expressed deep appreciation to the Legislative arm of the council, led by Hon. Basirat Banjoko, for their continued synergy and cooperation with his office.

In his goodwill message at the event, a former member of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. Gbenga Oshin stressed the absolute necessity for appointees to remain loyal to the leaders, the elders, the community, and the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
The former state lawmaker emphasized the need for the synergy to ensure the continued growth of Igbogbo-Baiyeku LCDA, noting that the progress seen today is a significant departure from how the town was 20 years ago.
He also advised the appointees to work diligently and maintain humility, warning them not to welcome
‘unnecessary assistance’ from people that might compromise their roles.

Simialrly, the Chairman of APC in Igbogbo-Baiyeku LCDA, Hon. Taiwo Orenuga appreciated the council chairman and acknowledged and appreciated the Igbogbo-Baiyeku Apex APC leader, Asiwaju Olorunfemi Bashorun for facilitating the emergence of a dynamic and youthful Chairman for the council.
He counseled the new appointees on the need to add tangible value that would transakte into visible progress for the LCDA.
The APC chieftain further stated that new cabinet members must enhance the relationship between the legislative and executive arm and gave a stern warning to the new officials not to abuse the powers of their office.

Speaking on behalf of the Adeboruwa of Igbogbo, the Odofin of Igbogbo, High Chief Onasanya Tajudeen, in bis brief remarks, provided a historical context, reminding the audience of the council’s humble beginnings.
He emphasized that appointees must be humble and perform their duties exceptionally well so as not to disappoint the leaders or the Council Chairman.

In his vote of thanks, the vice chairman, Barr. Ade Ayeni expressed appreciation to all stakeholders for supporting the Aroyewun administration while stressing that unity was the only way forward for the council.
Leading the list of appointees is the Vice Chairman who was assigned strategic oversight role as Supervisor for Investment and Wealth Creation and Secretary to the Local Government, Alhaji Qudus Oduntan.
