
It was encomiums galore at the historic foundation-laying ceremony of the Ultra-Modern Palace of the Eweye of Isiu Land, Oba David Olukayode Raji Balogun (JP) held at Isiu on Thursday.
The formal foundation-laying ceremony of the historic palace is coming up over 400 years since the community had a king last.
In his welcome speech, the Royal Host, Oba Raji Balogun went down memory lane, noting that history was being written under his reign, as Isiu town has never had a Palace in it’s almost 500 years of existence.

‘I congratulate all sons and daughters of Isiu Land on this landmark occasion. Isiu Land never had a Palace of its own. Even my grand-father never knew one. But, I am very grateful to God that today and during my reign, God is writing this history through the Ikorodu Division Peace Initiative’.
‘Let me state categorically here that, for bringing this massive Palace project to reality for the entire Isiu Land, history will always remember Odofin Adewunmi Ogunsanya and IDPIL for good’, the monarch added.

The Executive Secretary of Ikorodu Division Peace Initiative (IDPIL), Otunba Ganiyu Olusegun Abiru who responded on behalf of IDPIL reeled out the numerous developmental projects being embarked upon by the IDPIL across Ikorodu Division.
He said that these projects which cuts across various critical sectors were in line with the body’s SHEER Development Agenda.
Abiru disclosed that the construction of Eweye of Isiu Land Palace project was in line with the infrastructural agenda of the IDPIL, with a view to providing befitting Palace for Ikorodu Division Royal Fathers.

Similarly, the Chairman, IDPIL Sub-Committee on Information, Otunba Ayodele Elesho provided further insights into the project by revealing that the project will cost about N300 Million Naira.
He however assured the Eweye and sons and daughters of Isiu Land that the project which has started would continue non-stop and would be completed in due course.
