CHRISTMAS CELEBRATION: REP BENSON DISTRIBUTES PRES TINUBU’S ‘RENEWED HOPE’ RICE TO OVER 2,500 RESIDENTS ACROSS IKORODU FEDERAL CONSTITUENCY

In a significant demonstration of grassroots support and alignment with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, the Member representing Ikorodu Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Rep. Babajimi Adegoke Benson, on Tuesday, December 23, 2025, facilitated the distribution of Renewed Hope rice to over 2,500 residents across Ikorodu Division.

The large-scale distribution, which took place at Rep. Benson’s constituency office in Ikorodu, catered to a broad spectrum of beneficiaries, including elderly men and women, youths, and middle-aged residents drawn from various communities within the federal constituency.

Beneficiaries expressed pleasant surprise at the quantity of rice received, a gesture that sparked spontaneous prayers and words of appreciation directed at President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR; Rep. Babajimi Benson; the Director-General of the iCare Foundation, Mayor Deen Sanwoola; and members of the iCare Foundation team who coordinated the exercise.

The selection of beneficiaries was carried out through a structured and transparent process, using Direct Beneficiary Access Cards distributed ahead of time to residents of remote and underserved communities across Ikorodu Federal Constituency. This approach ensured that the intervention reached those most in need, reinforcing the people-centred focus of the initiative.

Speaking at the distribution centre on behalf of Rep. Babajimi Benson, Mayor Deen Sanwoola, Executive Assistant to the Governor of Lagos State and Director-General of the iCare Foundation, described the exercise as part of the lawmaker’s consistent efforts to bring the Renewed Hope vision closer to the people at the grassroots.

According to him, the initiative reflects Rep. Benson’s firm belief that governance must translate into tangible relief and improved living conditions for ordinary citizens, especially during the festive season. He noted that the Renewed Hope rice distribution was designed to support households, ease economic pressure, and reassure residents that they remain at the heart of government policies and interventions.

Mayor Sanwoola further conveyed Rep. Benson’s appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for prioritising the welfare of Nigerians through the Renewed Hope programme, and reaffirmed the lawmaker’s commitment to sustaining similar interventions that uplift vulnerable populations across Ikorodu Federal Constituency.

The orderly conduct of the distribution and the overwhelming turnout once again underscored the strong bond between Rep. Babajimi Benson and the people he represents, as well as the growing impact of the iCare Foundation as a vehicle for delivering meaningful social interventions at the community level.
