
The Lagos State Ministry of Education has commended the Adeboruwa of Igbogbo, Oba Barr. Semiudeen Orimadegun Kasali, for supporting academic excellence among public secondary schools in Lagos State.
The commendation was given by the Tutor-General and Permanent Secretary of Education District 2, Mr. Omotayo Sanni during the free JAMB-CBT Mock examination training, sponsored by the monarch.
The one-day CBT training workshop, themed 10 Years of Royal Excellence with Knowledge – Free CBT Training for 500 SS3 Students, which was held today, April 7, 2026, at HOMAT CBT Centre in Igbogbo, Lagos and sponsored by the Adeboruwa of Igbogbo, under the aegis of the Oba Semiudeen Orimadegun Kasali Royal Foundation, was the first in the series of the Pre-10th Coronation Anniversary event, slated for July 2026.

The TG / PS noted that the monarch’s initiative aligns with the THEMES+ Agenda of the Lagos State Government in education, describing it as a welcome and commendable development.
He further lauded the monarch for blazing the trail of academic excellence while urging other well-meaning individuals and corporate organizations in Lagos State to emulate Oba Adeboruwa’s laudable initiative.

In his brief remarks at the event, Oba Semiudeen Orimadegun Kasali, charged the students to take their education seriously by shunning all forms of distractions.
The monarch equally counseled the students to stay away from drug use and abuse, warning of dire consequences.

Impressed by the thoughtfulness, the Executive Chairman of Igbogbo-Baiyeku LCDA, Hon Hammed Olalekan Aroyewun announced a cash gift of N300,000 for any of the students who scores 300 and above in the forthcoming UTME examination.
Earlier, in his welcome address, a former Lagos State Head of Service and Chairman of the 10th Coronation Anniversary Planning Committee, Prince Adesegun Ogunlewe thanked Oba Kasali for not making his 10th Coronation Anniversary about merry-making only, but using the event as a platform for promoting academic excellence among Igbogbo students.

The students received hands-on CBT training, exam success tips, and career guidance with a view to improving their readiness for the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) by bridging the digital literacy gap among the students.
Some of the public school that benefitted from the CBT training include Zumratul Islamiyah Grammar School; Community Secondary School, Bayeku, Lagos State; Model Girls College, Agunfoye, Reri Secondary School, Oreta, Oreyo Grammar School, and Civil Service Model College all in Igbogbo-Baiyeku LCDA.
The event was graced by a former House of Assembly member, representing Ikorodu Constituency 2 and former Commissioner for Arts & Culture, Hon. Adebimpe Akinsola who doubles as the Vice Chairman of the Central Planning Committee, Secretary of the Central Planning Committee, Mr. Babatunde Afuwape and Builder Sesan Daini, who chairs the Education Sub-Committee of the 10th Coronation Anniversary.
