The Grand Chief Imam of Ikorodu Division, Fadilat Sheikh Alliy Seifudeen Ayinla Ademoritan Olowooribi, has declared open the celebration of his 70th Birthday and 20th Imamate Anniversary with a special Jumat Service led by the Chief Imam of Offa, Kwara State, Sheikh Muhyiddin Salman Husein.
In a joyous felicitation and act of stewardship to the deen, the Grand Chief Imam of Ikorodu, announced that the twin celebration would be dedicated towards the rebuilding project of the Ikorodu Central Mosque, raising the urgent need for an ultramodern worship centre for the Ikorodu Muslim Community.
During his khutbah (lecture), Chief Imam Offa, Sheikh Muhyiddeen Salman Husein, highlights the essence of living a humble life with constant remembrance of the hereafter whic. He emphasised the bountiful reward that awaits everyone that contributes to the building of the house of Allah.
During his goodwill message, Chief Imam Muhyiddeen, challenged the dignitaries and the congregation to raise a 100 Million Naira seed fund for the rebuilding of the Ikorodu Central Mosque, to his surprise the fund was raised as dignitaries, societies take turns in pledging their support to the project.
Present at the glamorous event include, His Royal Majesty, Oba Kabiru Adewale Shotobi, the Ayangbure of Ikorodu, Alhaji AbdulFatai Wahab, Baba Adeen of Ikorodu Central Mosque, Chief Imam Jamiu Oriwu Central Mosque, Fadilat Sheikh Yahya Oshoala Ajagbemokeferi (As-Samadaani); Chief Imam Ikorodu West, Chief Imam Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA, Permanent Secretary, Lands and Bureau Lagos State, Hon. Damilola Olowosago.
Other dignitaries present are Jamiu Chiefs of Ikorodu Central Mosque, Chief Imam’s and Ulamahs across the Division and Ikorodu Local Government.
