34TH IKORODU OGA FESTIVAL: IKORODU CONSTITUENCY 1 STATE LAWMAKER, GBOLAHAN OGUNLEYE BAGS IKODASS FELLOW AWARD

As part of activities, marking the 34th Ikorodu Oga Festival Celebration, the Ikorodu-Oga Development Association (IKODASS), organizers of the annual event has confereed the Ikorodu-Oga Fellow Award on Hon. Ogunleye Gbolahan Ogunleye, who is the member, representing Ikorodu Constituency I at the House of Assembly.

The IKODASS Fellow Award is presented on Ikorodu sons and daughters who have contributed to the development of the community in different areas.

It was gathered that Ogunleye had recently supported IKODASS with a revolving loan of Five Million Naira Only as part of seed fund for the association’s cooperative programme, among other supports for the body.

This is apart from facilitating some road projects and provision of revolving loans to Ikorodu market men and women as well as sponsorship of free GCE forms for hundreds of indigent Ikorodu students.

Presenting the award to Ogunleye, on behalf IKODASS, the Ayangburen of Ikorodu and Grand-Commander of Ikorodu-Oga, Oba Engr. Dr. Kabiru Adewale Shotobi commended the lawmaker for following the footsteps of his father, Prince Abiodun Ogunleye, a former Deputy Governor of Lagos State in public service.

The monarch said ‘I am happy that you have chosen to follow in the footsteps of your father in public service. I pray for you that you will surpass your father’s record of achievements’, Oba Shotobi prayed.

In his brief remarks, Ogunleye thanked the Chairman of Ikorodu-Oga Development Association (IKODASS), Alh. Kolawole Fatai Olayiwola and his executive committee members for conferring years honour on him.

He described the Award as an impetus that would gear him up to double up his efforts in the services of Ikorodu Constituency 1 through effective representation in the Lagos State House of Assembly.
