Ikorodu youths, through the Fanti Carnival, have successfully proven that nothing is impossible with unity.
Youths, teenagers and children from Aga-Parapo, Ijomu-Parapo and Isele-Alaro adorned in creatively designed costumes thrilled residents, motorists as well as guests who gathered at the Ayangburen Palace to receive the groups who came in in separate procession.
The entire nooks and crannies of Ikorodu across Aga, Ijomu, and Isele Quarters were turned into a colourful atmosphere as different fanti Carnival groups adorned their individual colourful atrires.
The groups later paraded through major roads like Alhaji Street, Oriwu Road, Ireshe, and Ayangburen roads from their from their various muster points in different parts of Ikorodu.
The climax of the colourful fanti Carnival parade was the colourful displays, creative performances by the various groups at the Ayangburen Palace pavilion.
The Ayangburen Palace was fully occupied by thousands of beautifully dressed members of the various groups, eho came in at different tomes.
The various fanti groups who were led into the Ayangburen palace by their team leads who rode in chariots and horses engaged in different kinds of colourful parades, dance presentations, choreography as well as horse displays to the admiration of all attendees and residents.
An elated Ayangburen of Ikorodu, Oba Engr. Kabiru Adewale Shotobi, in his speech, commended the various groups for their colourful appearances and presentations.
The monarch equally charged them to sustain the spirit of unity and conviviality that has been ignited through the carnival while admonishing them to ensure the new flukd love and peace is sustained beyond the Ikorodu-Oga Festival.
Coordinator of the Fanti Carnival, Mr. Pelumi Olalekan, a.k.a Rado who spoke on behalf of the groups, assured Oba Shotobi that the new found peace would be long-lasting.
